KITCHEN MOVE: OUR ADVICE

Moving the kitchen is undoubtedly the most delicate moment of a handling operation, because the kitchen is the home environment where most objects are kept: utensils and crockery of all sizes, from the smallest to the bulkiest and it is not easy to collect, divide and pack everything in a rational way.

Before dismantling a kitchen it is necessary to empty it of everything, bearing in mind that some objects will be needed until the last day you stay in the apartment. Therefore it will be necessary to put them among the last things.

Do you want to personally take care of the packaging of the contents?

  • boxes: we advise you to buy different sizes, small, medium and larger for bulkier items, in quantities suitable for the size of the kitchen to be moved. Only after filling the first boxes, you will be able to make an almost precise calculation of how many you will actually need.
  • pluriball (the famous paper with bubbles): you will need it to pack many delicate objects and to avoid friction and bumps between them inside the box.
  • wrapping paper: you will have to use it to wrap the objects before putting them in the boxes.
  • adhesive tape: buy more resistant tape (the so-called packing tape), but also the more practical paper tape, easier to remove and which does not leave traces of glue.
  • polystyrene packaging chips (also sold in cheap packs): light, very practical and useful, they will fill all those extra spaces that are created inside the packaging, preventing the objects from breaking or ruining by bumping into each other.
  • work gloves: you can buy a pack of latex gloves or, if you prefer, a pair of gardening gloves, which are certainly more resistant.

We also recommend that you mark the original position of the objects on the box with a felt-tip pen: it will certainly help you to relocate them without having any problems. Obviously, the fridge is the last to be emptied! Try to buy food day by day, so as not to risk having to pack perishable material too! But if you have to do it, remember food foil bags or foil.

Do you prefer to entrust the whole kitchen packing and moving operation to real experts?

It is clear that this whole packaging operation would require a complicated and demanding job that we are often unable to carry out independently. Do-it-yourself is not always the best choice; sometimes, improvisation produces more disadvantages than advantages. Disassembling a kitchen, then separating all its components, from the wall units to the counters, from the appliances to the gas/electricity/water connections, requires the presence of specialized personnel with extensive experience behind them.

In a nutshell: moving professionals, technicians and workers who take care of all the delicate phases of kitchen handling, including that of packing the objects contained inside the wall units!

I would understand you perfectly, therefore, if you did not want to deal with this difficult task! Serious and trained professionals will come to your home, with all the necessary material and, after having emptied the wall units, they will disassemble all the parts of your kitchen and transport it

Even the disassembly of a kitchen is a delicate operation and not easy to carry out. For this reason it is advisable, I would say necessary, to contact a specialized firm who will take care of disassembling every part of the kitchen, from the doors to the shelves, taking care to pack them appropriately, marking the various parts in a rational and precise way in order to be able to reassemble them quick and easy when assembling the kitchen in the new apartment.
