RTTH – Run Thru The Hills
American Street Car Series is proud to announce the Grandaddy of them all, the EIGHTH annual Run Thru The Hills, in Pigeon Forge, TN!!! This year’s event will be held September 14-16, 2012. On Friday, those wanting to participate in the Driving School will do so from 9am-2pm. The driving school is being conducted by the guys at Jet Hot and will be held at Splash Country. Friday’s annual ‘Ride the Dragon’ cruise will depart from Splash Country, when the school is over, at 2pm. We will end the cruise, around 6pm, with our traditional BBQ dinner at Precision Rod and Customs, just as we did last year. The cost to participate in the cruise is $18 and includes one dinner. Additional dinners are $18. On Saturday, we spend all day at Splash Country Auto-crossing and Speed/Stop Challenges. (Please google ‘Dollywood Splash Country’, zoom over their parking lot, and feast your eyes on our track!!) We ask that you be there by 7:30am, so that we can have our driver’s meetings and get the track ready to go! As a special thanks to everyone for their continued support. we will also be adding a Sunday Event at Splash Country; get ready for a full day of Speed/Stop Squared, compliments of American Street Car Series!
In 2005, Frank Serefine and Bill decided that they wanted to get a bunch of pro-touring guys together. Knowing Pigeon Forge would be a great spot, they decided to plan something the same weekend as the annual Grand Rod Run, which fell the second weekend after Labor Day. That first year, eleven cars showed up. RTTH included cruising through the mountains and raising hell at a local drag strip; a ball was had by all. Word got out and the event grew. In 2010, we had 180 people at the dinner and cruise; when registration opened, the autocross and drag racing segments in 24 hours!!! In 2011, RTTH was moved towards the end of September, simply to avoid all the Grand Rod Run traffic congestion. Also in 2011, RTTH moved the autocross to a new venue, Smokies Stadium, so that participants could be ensured more space and more efficient runs.
This event is especially near and dear to our hearts, being that it paved the way for all of the other ASCS events. The tremendous growth and support of this event led us to expand the brand and make it more accessible to gear heads throughout the United States. It is a pleasure to be on my home turf, grilling, chilling, and tinkering on cars in the Toy Box.

“Just got back in this evening and I wanted to take a minute to THANK YOU and all the others for the incredible event today. I know there are many people and sponsors involved in pulling this off, and I wish I could personally thank ‘em all. The autocross track layout was superb……fast, technical, and long ! It was only my second autocross to participate in, but definitely the most fun car day I’ve ever had. Will be back next year for the whole weekend I hope. CONGRATS on a well planned and exectuted event !!!!!!!” - David (aka. damannhw)
“Just adding to the pile, HELLUVA JOB BILL!!!! Sooooo, will you be announcing your bid for Presidency next year?” - Tony Bolton
“Agreed! Well planned and executed. Everyone worked really well together. To have about 80 cars and everyone run the way they did was awesome! GREAT time and look forward to next year!” - Hot Rod Girl
“Had a great time Bill, and I didn’t bring a car.Enjoyed hanging out at the Toy Box! All of you did a great job with the event as usual. Looking forward to #8!!” – Tucks69
“Bill, this is my most favorite regional event of the year. I would travel for this even if it were not in my back yard. The cars are BAD ASS and the people are even better. Thanks you for letting me bring the 4200-lb. taxi-cab on 275-wide street tires out to play with the big dogs. I love the Pro-Touring movement and hope someday to be able to build and bring a competitive machine. Until then, I’ll have fun with the Granpa-car. In RTTH7, you and your very capable support crew pulled off the most organized and fun event that I have ever attended… and I’m no snot-nosed rookie. 960 runs in 6-1/2 hours? This isn’t our typical local autocross.
